 Background:

 Duties and responsibilities:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

Cluster and Sector Reporting

  • Support in the coordination and establishment of a process for managing National Clusters/ Sectors reporting activities for the country office;
  • Compile, edit, and Consolidate all sector 5Ws &4Ws reports from the field and share with Sector Leads Technical Specialists for review. Ensure timely submission to Sectors/ Clusters.
  • Provide reporting guidelines, templates and provide support, trainings and clarification on reporting guidelines, templates and schedules for the field teams.
  • Liaise as needed, with the relevant team members in the field (project managers, operations team and finance and awards team) to ensure that they provide additional information requested by the clusters and sectors to complete reports.
  • Maintain a database of the final versions of reports submitted and approved.
  • Periodically monitor the cluster/sectors and donor reporting processes and document challenges encountered and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and circulate reporting schedules with the relevant persons, and on a timely basis.

 

Donor & External Reporting

  • Support the Awards Donor Reporting focal person to manage the core business processes on reporting to ensure that reports are reviewed in a timely manner and with realistic deadlines, that are communicated and understood.
  • Work with PDQ, Ops, Awards and other teams as relevant to meet ad hoc information requsts frm donors e.g. data for presentatons or programme review meetings;
  • Review draft reports/information submitted from the field and work with MEAL colleagues provide technical support to improve on the quality of the information provided, coherence and completeness of the reports;
  • Participate in capacity building plans on reporting to the teams involved in reporting;

 

Comms and Advocacy Support

  • Support Comms and Advocacy team to gether information required to ensure strong and accurate communication of our work both internally and externally;
  • Ensure that data and other reports (e.g. case studies) are developed in coordination and consultation with the technical advisers and operation teams, and that necessary inputs are adequately provided, and went through review and signoff processes.
  • Ensure that reports are in compliance with internal SC requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • A BSc/BA Degree in Development studies/International Relations/Project Management

      or a relevant subject

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role in an INGO
  • Experience in the preparation of high quality cluster (Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection, FSL) and donor reports including ECHO, BHA and UN-OCHA.
  • Good understanding of  Clusters/ Sectors and donor compliance and reporting mechanisms and requirements
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and good liaison skills
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent Excel and Data Management Skills
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children.

Desirable:

  • Experience or understanding of working in the context similar to Sudan.
  • Diploma in Project Managemen
