Chemonics International is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition priorities. The implementation of this program requires a highly integrated and dynamic team approach to creative, coordinated, and effective program implementation in order to meet the program’s objectives.
Background:
The USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) Transition to New Sudan (TNS) program aims to support the consolidation of Sudan’s democratic transformation through activities that 1. enable the civilian-led government to demonstrate progress on key transition processes; 2. strengthen civic engagement; and 3. expand independent media. The IT Assistant will report directly to the IT Officer or their designee and will be responsible for providing IT support to achieve TNS objectives.

Duties and responsibilities:
IT system:
• Set-up and maintain the project office IT environment
• Apply methods for the proper and efficient use of IT
• Implement procedures to ensure integrity of data
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
• Maintenance and control of software and hardware related to servers, firewalls, switches, desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
• Prepare and follow-up all related IT needs
• Reparse and fix all related IT good functionality issues
• In coordination with Internet Service Provider with installation, configuration and maintenance of appropriate internet speed and contract.
• In coordination with ISP about new staff mobile line and subscription
• Monitor monthly bill of mobile, landline and Internet subscription ceiling
• Monitor local area network (LAN) traffic, which will help to identify potential problems and develop solutions.
• Add or remove domain work stations
• Administer and manage IT equipment, including inventory management, software versions, server and workstation updates, licenses, etc.
• Administer and manage a file-sharing server with regular back-ups
• Research new IT applications with the objective of optimizing office functions
• Establish and implement security policies and procedures
• Monitor use of IT systems
• Communicate to project personnel proper use of IT system and provide training as required
• Provide technical support to project personnel on a timely basis
• Detailed records of the installation and administration of the network, software, hardware, network design (with diagrams), updated inventory, and support provided to staff

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
• Minimum three years’ experience in information technology with emphasis on the following: LAN Windows administration (Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7/8/10), practical experience with firewall, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, backups, antivirus, and IT security policies
• Practical experience in IT systems analysis, with ability to prepare reports and documentation clearly and objectively
• Pratical Experience with Microsoft Azure endpoint and related systems
• Practical experience with Internet Service Provider
• Practical experience maintaining and managing of Backup
• Practical experience providing NTIC trainings and orientations
• Ability to work under pressure, in a team and independently with minimal supervision
