Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) translates to Doctors without Borders. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff - bound together by our charter. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation.
MSF was founded in 1971 in Paris by a group of journalists and doctors. Today, we are a worldwide movement of nearly 65,000 people.

Duties and responsibilities: • Inform medical staff about important cultural nuances to consider during a meeting, medical consultation or interview with local people. • Participate in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter. • Provide face to face interpreting, as well as during telephone and radio calls or other telecom devices, when necessary. • Adapt communication to any circumstances, using appropriate language registry as well as diplomatic and courtesy manners. • Translate MSF internal / external documents into local language(s). • Keep record of all translated documents. • Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books that belong to MSF • Ensure confidentiality and medical secrecy. • Provide interpreting during medical round/consultation in the ITFC and ATFC • Provide interpreting in formal and informal meetings with MoH, other local authorities and stakeholders. • Support PMR and other ISs in setting up meetings • Support PMR, MDs, Watsan and other IS as interpreters during training and workshops • Translate (medical and not medical) documents from Arabic to English and viceversa • Translate medical and activities report from English to Arabic to be delivered to Local Authorities when required
