Background:
PURPOSE:
The Driver will assist the project team of the Strengthening Local Communities Resilience to Climate Change in Sudan. He will have the overall responsibility of managing the project vehicle in safety.
He will work under the direct supervision of the project manager and the project team members carrying out any required transports relevant to the project implementation. In addition, he partially maintains a relationship with the branch management with regard to vehicle maintenance.

Duties and responsibilities:
1.Driving:
-
Drive vehicle for official travel and business, or as requested by the Project Manager.

Maintain a high standard of service to both internal and external guests.
-
Ensure punctuality and safe transport.
-
Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations.
2.Car security and maintenance:
-
Ensure that vehicle is kept clean, tidy, and in good working condition at all times.
-
Ensure that vehicle is kept secure at all times.
-
Ensure that vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyre, etc.
-
Ensure that vehicle repairs are carried out by official manufacturers’ specifications.

Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs.
-
Assist the Admin Officer to ensure vehicle insurance and license are updated.
3.Car logbook maintenance:
Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, etc.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Qualifications:

High school certificate.
-
Valid driving license.
-
Holder of qualification in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Knowledge about/of:
-
Understanding of transportation law.
-
Car mechanics.
-
Location of NGOs, CBOs, ministries, hotels, and restaurants.
Experience of:
-
Minimum 3 years experience as a driver with a good driving record.
Skills in:
-
Excellent driving.
-
Good communication.
Working Abilities:

Being well-organized and systematic.

Careful, accountable, responsible, and punctual.

Honest and approachable.
Attitudes:

Welling to work long and irregular hours, shift duty, and on public holidays as required.
