 Duties and responsibilities:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Mapping all  save the children premises and facility  to have  relevant  service delivery information( GPS  reading , service package  and type of facility )
  • Work with Health and Nutrition staff, identify basic package of service delivery (PHCC, PHCU and Isolation centres
  • Feasibility assessment for electronic case reporting mechanism in consultation with Health team

·         Produce IT Monthly Reports, (related to all Security standards Maintenance Tracking and Trips Reports.

  • Design and develop budget for GIS projects related SCI Sudan.

·         Provide an appropriate feedback on how to improve the GIS Data in the organization.

  •  To create spatial data by building databases and linking geographic information for the provision of GIS analysis for SCI.
  • To work with departmental GIS users to capture information for use within the system, whilst enforcing procedures for maintaining data.
  • To provide a comprehensive specialist training and support service for SCI’s internal GIS end users, including the maintenance of the GIS customer training database and associated customer feedback
  •  To create and build customer training manuals to cover different levels and specialist areas of GIS
  • To assist the database analyst with the design and creation of a Web enabled GIS service to both internal users and members of the public.
  • To provide GIS data to external bodies under the Ordinance Survey the Mapping Services Agreement subcontractors licencing.
  • To produce detailed plans and associated design work for specialist projects across Sudan SCI
  • To provide a specialist design service for exhibitions, brochures and information displays for both internal and public presentations.

To comply with all quality procedures and standards. To identify where quality of service can be improved to the user and to ensure that the designated quality manager is informed of these 

  • suggested improvements in writing.
  • To ensure data quality objectives are met
  • Serve as technical lead for the GIS tasks.
  • Data collection from different state offices in Sudan used different Methods.

  • Compiling and integrating map data for automation from diverse sources such as existing maps, aerial photography, and satellite imagery
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control procedures on delivered data
  • Evaluate and identify data needs, conduct analysis and identify solutions for GIS projects, and perform technical GIS work to meet project requirements.
  • Perform GIS data management by implementing methodologies
  • Configure GIS applications using standard software configuration tools
  • Create complex geographic database and perform updates and edits, Create and configure new datasets to be used in the geo-database.
  • Accurately creating and maintaining data stored in a geodatabase that is used to produce GIS maps and analysis results that support informed decision making
  •  Digitizing and editing geographic features to maintain spatial relationships using topology
  • prepare complex maps and perform analysis and data processing with import/ export routines
  • Solving problems related to the registration of different map layers.
  • Designing high-quality map and graphic products for output by the GIS system.
  • Perform analysis, modelling, and mapping by cultivating proficiency in ESRI core GIS software products and extensions Publish
  • Map services with ArcGIS Online and review and make recommendations with mapping product.
  • GIS policies and procedures during the creation, maintenance, conversion, and use of spatial and tabular GIS datasets
  • Analyse workflows and identify the recommend improvement
  • Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format,
  • Troubleshoot assigned application issues and work with technical resources for resolution in hardware and software. (IT base)
  • Plan and organize work to meet schedules and time lines.
  •  

Capacity Building:`

  • Support all staff users for the GIS system  and mapping  and  regular updating of the information and data

General:

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·         Sector Experience: at least 4 years of experience in the GIS systems.

·         Prefer to have a strong IT background.

Skills.

·         High communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice from a distance.

·         Proven organizational skills with an ability to deliver consistently to deadlines on operational and project responsibilities.

Computer skills
