Background: The Health Systems Officer works under the direct supervision of the WHO Representative. S/he works fully independently and requires decision-making skills, as well as strategic and complex thinking to reach conclusions and recommendations. The incumbent coordinates activities in the designated areas and may supervise directly a team of Special Service Agreement holders. The functions support government and other stakeholders in ensuring equitable delivery of quality and people-centred health services that are acceptable, accessible and affordable, i.e. without the risk of financial hardship especially for the poor and marginalised. By reviewing and improving health systems, the functions contribute to building capacities of the health workforce, to strengthening health technology management and health information systems. |
