 Background:

Welthungerhilfe seeks a dynamic HR Manager to lead workforce planning, recruitment, and employee relations while ensuring compliance with Sudanese labor regulations and WHH policies. The role will drive performance management, staff engagement, and safeguarding initiatives, oversee compensation benchmarking and contract administration, and strengthen organizational capacity through effective training and development systems.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support workforce planning by reviewing, contextualizing, and adopting WHH’s standard job descriptions.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment process for both new and replacement positions.
  • Manage and update employee records in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Benchmark salaries to assess the competitiveness of Welthungerhilfe compensation against other agencies.
  • Monitor national legislation on compensation and benefits and identify necessary adjustments.
  •  Prepare employment contracts in line with Welthungerhilfe standards and Sudanese labor regulations.
  • Oversee contract implementation and process requests for subsequent payments.
  • Update and manage organograms in collaboration with Heads of Projects and Departments.
  • Lead staff engagement and representation activities.
  • Coordinate duty of care and safeguarding interventions approved by Senior Leadership.
  • Advise and train employees in effective execution of the Performance Management process.
  • Review Employee Dialogue Forms for quality, compile individual learning needs, and recommend effective implementation strategies to management.
  • Maintain a training provider database by setting up and continually updating external training resources.
  • Ensure compliance with WHH HR policies and procedures

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (CHRP, CIPD, SHRM, HRCI) is an added advantage.
  • Post‑graduate studies in HR or related fields are desirable.

 

Experience

  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably with INGOs.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, compensation & benefits, safeguarding, and staff development.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and intercultural communication skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and a good grasp of Arabic language.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
