Gross Salary: 1,070 USD (the payment will be in SDG currency).

 Duties and responsibilities:

 

Job Purpose:


The GBV Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response activities. She will provide technical guidance, support community-based structures, and ensure that survivor-centered principles are upheld in all interventions, including outreach, community engagement, and service provision.

 

Key Responsibilities: Program Implementation & Technical Support:

  • Oversee the establishment, running, and support of Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS), ensuring they are safe, confidential, and accessible entry points for services.
  • Lead the mobilization and management of two outreach teams to reach women and girls with mobility and access constraints.
  • Strengthen and support community-based protection committees linked to WGSS, 
  • Plan and conduct community dialogues, awareness campaigns, and information sessions on GBV/SGBV/CRSV and protection concerns 
  • Develop and implement community-led risk mitigation action plans based on participatory safety audits in displacement sites and host communities.
  • Support the GBV Assistant in providing confidential and age-appropriate GBV case management services ensuring adherence to GBV and survivor-centered principles and coordinate the provision of dignity kits GBV cases.

Coordination & Capacity Building:

  • Map service providers and establish/update referral pathways times over the project period.
  • Conduct capacity-strengthening sessions for service providers on GBV and CRSV response.
  • Engage influential leaders as change agents and facilitate faith-based and community-led advocacy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the PSEA Officer to ensure all activities are PSEA-compliant and that feedback/complaints mechanisms are functional and accessible.

Monitoring, Reporting & Advocacy:

  • Monitor emerging risks and adapt interventions based on context analysis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting on all GBV activities.
  • Support the Legal Aid Analysis Framework (LAAF) assessments and GBV legal referrals in coordination with the Paralegal.

Advocate for the rights and needs of women and girls within the community and with relevant stakeholders


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in GBV prevention and response in humanitarian settings.
  • Proven experience in managing WGSS, community mobilization, and case management.
  • In-depth knowledge of GBV guiding principles, IASC guidelines, and survivor-centered approach.
  • Experience in capacity building and coordination with community structures.
  • Strong communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
