Background: CARE International in Sudan to deliver lifesaving humanitarian assistance and resilience programming for conflict- and displacement-affected communities, with a particular focus on gender equality, the protection of women and girls, and locally led response. Protection and GBV programming is delivered across multiple states in partnership with national organisations and in coordination with government authorities (HAC) and the protection and GBV coordination architecuure. Job purpose The Protection Manager leads the design, quality implementation, and coordination of CARE's protection and GBV response in (South Kordofan), ensuring services are survivor-centred, gender-transformative, and compliant with international protection standards and donor requirements. The role combines technical leadership, team and partner management, representation, and safeguarding oversight in a complex, access-constrained operating environment. |

Duties and responsibilities: *Lead implementation of protection and GBV activities (case management, psychosocial support, safe spaces, women's leadership and empowerment, awareness-raising ) in line with GBV and CP minimum standards, the GBV guiding principles, and a survivor-centred approach. * Ensure protection mainstreming and PSEA across CARE's programming in the area. * provide technical guidance to Protection and GBV Officers and to implementing partners. * Represent CARE in the Protection and GBV sub-clusters/working groups and with HAC and relevant line ministries. *Coordinate referrals and service mapping with other actors to strengthen the response. |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: *University degree in social sciences, social work, law, gender studies, public health, or a related field, postgraduate qualification an asset. * Minimum [confirm - e.g. 5] years' experience in protection and /or GBV programming in humanitarian/conflict contexts, including [confirm] years in a management role. * Strong knowledge of protection coordination mechanisms and humanitarian standards (Spher, GBV/CP minimum standards , IASC guidelines). CARE has zero tolerance for any harm to the people it serves, including sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment. * The successful candidate will be subject to safequarding and reference checks is expected to uphold CARE's Safequarding and PSEA policies at all times.
