 Background:

SUDO is an independent, secular, nongovernmental, non-partisan and non-profit making organization established in April 2001 and dedicated to the promotion and the protection of human rights, peace building, support human basic services and development. In particular, the sector includes: FSL, Health, Nutrition, Protection, WASH, and cash programs.  SUDO is currently operating through 13 well-established field offices. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular meetings with community members to discuss program objectives and mobilizing community participation.
  • Support and facilitate with the team the formation of representative community working groups and community project implementation committees.
  • Collect, compile and submit all monitoring and evaluation data required to document project activities.
  • Ensure that the communities are continuously involved and kept up to date with priority project developments.
  • Initiate actions aimed at breaking down passivity, apathy and attitudes of letting others do things for them.
  •  Encourage and stimulate community members to organize for action aimed at solving their problems and to plan, implement and monitor action that they define themselves;
  • To develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members.
  • Any other duties required by supervisors.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Educated to degree level (Bsc.) or diploma in Development/ Social science or related subjects or Sudanese certificate combined with 1–2-year experience preferably with INGO/NGO.
  • NGO experience 
  • Experience of working in difficult security contexts is highly desirable. 
  • Communications and representational experience is desirable.

 

 

 

Languages

  • Arabic required.
  • English skills are an advantage.
