 Duties and responsibilities:

Job Summary 

The Thabat enhancing community Resilience is a 36-month project funded by the World bank/ Sudan Transition and Recovery Support Trust Fund (STARS). Thabat will contribute to addressing basic needs in the health and nutrition, targeting 1,000,000 people. Thabat will be implemented in close coordination with all stakeholders.

As a member of the project team, you will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

 

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • The PO will be responsible for the day-to-day project activity implementation in their respective field location in Khartoum state.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the Project Implementation Manual (PIM) in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules.
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools. 
  • Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting schedule. 
  • Collect information on staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Basic qualifications

  • University degree in Public Health, Nutrition or any health and or nutrition Related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of Health and Nutrition and for an INGO would be a plus.
  • Additional experience may substitute for some education.

 

Required Languages:

 English and Arabic.

Travel

Based in Khartoum state, must be willing and able to travel up to 80% to the field for project monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory responsibilities.

 

Key Working Relationships 

Internal: Senior Project office (supervisor), Program Manager, Project Director, Thabat project team Project and other relevant project staff.

External: Khartoum State Ministry of Health (SMoH) staff, representatives of the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and community members.

 

MEAL Competencies (For program staff) 

  • In cooperation with project team and MEAL staff, help develop an M&E Plan
  • Monitor the quality of the Health & Nutrition program activities through regular field visits
  • Participating in overall program reviews and evaluations.
  • Work with the MEAL team in identifying and disseminating lessons learned and best practices.
