Osman Consulting Ltd will support implementation oversight for the Rapid Emergency Response for Displaced Populations in Sudan, a 12-month intervention running from April 2026 to March 2027. The project delivers integrated Health, WASH, and Shelter support in Khartoum, White Nile, and Northern States, with emphasis on timely delivery, donor compliance, partner coordination, risk management, monitoring, and quality assurance.
Duties and responsibilities:
Purpose of the Role
The Project Officer serves as the principal Sudan-based coordination focal point for day-to-day implementation follow-up. The role supports activity planning, field-level tracking, documentation, stakeholder liaison, and timely communication between the Sudan office and the UK management team.

Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities:
Field implementation coordination
Track implementation of project activities across targeted locations and maintain current information on progress, delays, access constraints, and pending actions.
Coordinate routine follow-up with implementing actors, service providers, or partner focal points to confirm that activities proceed in line with approved plans.
Support field scheduling, site-visit planning, action follow-up, and implementation sequencing across sectors.
Reporting and evidence management
Compile field updates, implementation notes, beneficiary information, site-verification records, photographs, meeting notes, and other supporting evidence.
Review field documentation for completeness, consistency, and traceability before submission to the Project Manager or Programme Manager.
Maintain a well-organised field documentation system covering activity records, correspondence, approvals, and means of verification.
Stakeholder liaison
Maintain regular contact with local actors, service providers, authorities, and project counterparts as delegated to facilitate implementation and issue resolution.
Support meetings, coordination sessions, and field discussions and ensure agreed action points are recorded and followed up.
Risk monitoring and escalation
Monitor contextual and implementation risks, including movement restrictions, security developments, administrative barriers, shortages, or service delivery interruptions.
Alert the Project Manager promptly to issues affecting timing, quality, compliance, or staff safety and support implementation of agreed mitigation measures.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in development, social sciences, public administration, public health, engineering, or another relevant field.
At least 5 years of relevant field coordination experience in humanitarian or recovery programming.
Good understanding of field implementation processes, documentation standards, and stakeholder coordination in Sudan.
Good contextual awareness, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Full professional proficiency in Arabic, including strong writing and editing skills.
Working proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in professional settings and coordinate with HQ-based colleagues.
Strong organizational and coordination skills; attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
