 Background:

The Grants Manager is responsible for supporting the effective management of ACF Sudan’s grant portfolio by ensuring that programme information from the field is consolidated, reviewed and translated into timely, accurate and results-based reports and proposals for donors and internal stakeholders. The role also supports grant monitoring, compliance with donor requirements, grant modifications and coordination with program teams and partners to ensure proper documentation and implementation of funded projects.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Objective 1: Strategic Reporting and Knowledge Management.
  • Objective 2: Communications, Visibility, and External Engagement.
  • Objective 3: Cross-Cutting Support and Representation.
  • Objective 4: Grants Management, Compliance and Portfolio Health Oversight.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, Humanitarian Studies, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or a related field. A master’s degree is highly preferred, particularly in disciplines aligned with humanitarian action, development cooperation, or global affairs. Specific technical knowledge.
  • Previous experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with at least 2–3 years in a coordination or management role involving donor reporting, communications, or grants. Cooking of the humanitarian
  • Strong understanding of institutional donor regulations, compliance requirements and grant management processes within the humanitarian sector.
  • Familiarity with but not only USG, CDCS, FCDO, GAC, AFD, ECHO, AICS, UN regulations (especially Pool Fund, WFP and UNICEF rules and guidelines). Action Against Hunger Knowledge of Action Against Hunger and its operation department areas of work is a plus.
  • Languages: English and Arabic (written and spoken). Digital Tools & Systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for proposal development, donor reporting, budget follow-up and document management.
  • Basic familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar) is considered an advantage.
  • Experience using project and grants management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Trello, Monday, Asana or similar) to track reporting timelines, deliverables and documentation.
  • Strong skills in Excel-based financial tracking, including monitoring budgets, burn rates and grant implementation progress.
  • Experience managing digital grant filing systems and documentation, ensuring organized, accessible and audit-ready records.
  • Familiarity with program or monitoring data systems (e.g., Kobo or similar tools) to support the consolidation of program information for reporting purposes is an asset.
  • Mobility (national/international) National/availability to travel Commitment to Gender Equality Valuable previous experience on issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.

Remuneration package:

  • Based in: Sudan – Port Sudan - Capital Office
  • Position length: 12 Months with Three (03) Months' Probation Period, (Renewable Subject to Funding and Performance)
  • Line manager: Grants and Reporting Coordinator 
  • Salary: 1,749 $ Gross based on the salary Scale.
  • Annual Leave: 21 Working days/ year
