 Background:

Social Worker is responsible to support orphaned children. The role involves providing emotional, social, and psychological support, ensuring children’s well-being, and helping them grow in a safe and nurturing environment. The Social Worker will work closely with caregivers, the best interests of each orphan's child.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Assess the emotional, psychological, educational, and social needs of orphaned children.

Develop and implement individualized care and support plans.

Provide counselling and emotional support to children dealing with trauma, loss, or neglect.

Monitor children’s progress in health, education, and behaviour.

Work closely with orphanage staff, foster families, and caregivers to ensure proper care.

Advocate for children’s rights and ensure their protection and safety at all times.

Facilitate access to education, healthcare, and recreational activities.

 

Organize life skills training and personal development activities for children.

Maintain accurate records and reports on each child’s development and case history.

Coordinate with NGOs, schools, healthcare providers, and government agencies.

Conduct home visits or institutional visits when required.


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with children, preferably orphans or vulnerable groups.

Experience in child protection, or child development is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong empathy and ability to work with children who have experienced trauma or loss.

Excellent communication and counseling skills.

Ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with children and caregivers.

Knowledge of child protection policies and safeguarding practices.

Strong observation, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle emotionally challenging situations with professionalism.

Good organizational and documentation skills.

Other Requirements:

High level of integrity and commitment to child welfare.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.

Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training in trauma-informed care, child psychology, or counselling.

Experience working in orphanages, NGOs, or humanitarian settings.

Knowledge of local child welfare laws and policies.
