 Background:

Job Summary

In Umdukhen Locality, CRS is implementing integrated responses to Improve Health and Nutrition. The Health Project Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring health-related projects to ensure they are delivered effectively and improve community health outcomes while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Also/they will supervise related community outreach activities in Umdukhen Locality



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with other project staff to develop monthly project work plans with timelines and follow up on the implementation of the plan.
  • Oversee day-to-day health project activities.
  • Promote the integration of the different components of health, nutrition, and WASH at static and mobile Health facility levels.
  • In coordination with other project staff, supervise project volunteers (CEWs, TBAs, MSGs, etc.) performance and related community outreach activities.
  • In coordination with other project staff, take lead of sMOH seconded staff management.
  •   In coordination with the project team, conduct field visits to monitor and verify project activities and quality relative to the standards. 
  • Ensure timely procurement of project goods and services and follow up with the Supply chain and finance to monitor the progress of procurement and payment.
  • In close coordination with project staff, distribute supplies to the health facilities as per needs to avoid supply stockouts.
  • Ensuring efficient medical and non-medical supply management and monitoring the rational use of supplies.
  • Support an effective referral system from HFs to Umdukhn Hospital.
  • Provide appropriate feedback for health project-related complaints through available feedback mechanisms.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct capacity-building training for health workers and project volunteers.
  • Provide program update and burning issues with project leads on a regular basis.
  • Support quality data collection of all activities conducted at Health facilities and the Community level. 
  • Work with health workers to ensure all Health data is timely collected and submitted at the locality level.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of routine health reports.
  • Participate and represent CRS in all health sector-related meetings and activities.
  • Carry out any other activities/responsibilities as per the request of his/her supervisor

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health and other health related fields. 
  • At least two years of relevant experience in Health project management.
  • Experience in community mobilization and in supervision of community health volunteers.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Observation, active listening, and analysis skills with the ability to make sound judgment
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented.
  • Experience in community mobilization and in the training and supervision of community health promoters
  • Reporting capacity, organized and rigorous personality, availability/learning capacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook email
  • Experience working with governments and NGOs at the community level.

 

Required Languages: Excellent English/Arabic verbal and written communication skills.

 

Travel: Must be willing and able to travel up to 50%.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
