 Background:

 Background

The Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) is an international humanitarian organization working to improve access to health, nutrition, WASH, capacity building, and emergency response services for vulnerable communities in Sudan.
To support its expanding programs and operations, SAPA is seeking a qualified Human Resources Officer to support the management of HR functions and ensure compliance with organizational policies and labor regulations

Purpose of the Position

The HR Officer will support the implementation of SAPA’s human resources policies and procedures, manage recruitment processes, maintain employee records, and assist in staff performance management and HR administration.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

 Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Staffing

Support the recruitment process including job advertisements, shortlisting, interview coordination, and reference checks.

Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documentation for new staff.

Facilitate orientation and induction programs for newly recruited employees.

HR Administration

Maintain and update staff personnel files and HR database.

Ensure proper documentation of contracts, leave records, and staff information.

Prepare HR reports and staff lists as required by management.

Policy Implementation

Ensure staff compliance with SAPA’s HR policies and procedures.

Provide guidance to staff regarding HR policies, benefits, and regulations.

Support implementation of organizational code of conduct and safeguarding policies.

Performance Management

Assist in coordinating staff performance appraisal processes.

Support supervisors in tracking performance reviews and development plans.

Staff Welfare and Relations

Address staff inquiries related to HR issues.

Support initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace environment.

Compliance

Ensure HR practices comply with Sudanese Labor Law and organizational regulations.

Support internal audits and HR compliance reviews


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.

Experience

Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in HR, preferably with international NGOs or humanitarian organizations.

Skills

Strong knowledge of HR processes and recruitment procedures.

Good understanding of Sudanese labor regulations.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Languages

Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required.
