Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the Mental Health activity manager and other medical team members, in order to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the resources needed while maintaining high levels of quality in Mental Health MSF programs and activities.
Coordinates activities of counseling services with other relevant actors and liaises with the local counterparts (like MoH, WHO, ICRC and NGO) on mental health matters, including referral services.
Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to MSF protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs
Liaise with the other MSF team members of the project.
Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
Oversee the administrative processes associated with psychosocial functioning.
When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality.
Compile the data and statistic linked with MH activities and report to the MH activity manager
Offer clinical counselling supervision to mental health counsellors in collaboration with the Mental Health Activity Manager.
Ensure the patients related information is kept confidential
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
Main project activities include collaborations with MoH and other local partner organizations. Focus for the project is Nutrition (ITFC, ATFC), SRH, and emergency response.
Support counterpart in MSF-supported activities (MoH or partner agency) to ensure adequate staffing, identify training needs, develop and deliver trainings and collaboratively manage the activities.
To participate in preparing simple formal training for the MSF and MoH or partner agency medical teams on psychological first aid and other relevant mental health topics.
Ensure incentive attendance sheets are appropriately completed as needed, support HR/FIN to collect staff details for incentive payment processing as required.
Provide individual and group counseling and therapeutic sessions in a variety of contexts including in an inpatient setting, outpatient setting, and emergency or mobile setting
Develop plans to implement mental health activities in an integrated way into existing activities (nutrition, SRH, emergency response), including for both patients and their caregivers and vulnerable communities
Set up and maintain referral pathways to other medical departments within supported activities
Ensure relevant MoH / WHO and / or MSF clinical guidelines are in place and that mental health teams understand and follow these
Collaborate closely with MoH and partner counterparts in MSF-supported activities, including capacity building of supervisors, indirect supervision of clinical staff, and ensuring attendance of incentivized staff as applicable
Participate in developing quality improvement plans and activities, guide team on implementation and monitoring of these initiatives
All mental health activities are new and need to be implemented and closely followed
Participate in explos and assessments as needed, supporting identification of priorities and needs during emergency response
Prepare clinical plans including clinical and HR plans targeted to the specific response and situation in a timely manner (in coordination with the rest of the medical departments)
Ensure basic mental health services are avilable as a component of all emergency responses
Collect mental health data as required ,follow and analyze mental health data on regular basis
Prepare draft sections of Monthly Medical Report as designated
Liaise with other actors and MoH mental health department to keep updated actor and activity/ service mapping
Participate in project strategy discussions, budget planning, HR planning, and activity planning with the rest of the Medical Team
