Background: The Communications and Advocacy Manager will lead the development and implementation of Sadagaat Charity Organisation communication and advocacy strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility, credibility, and influence. The role supports fundraising, program impact, and stakeholder engagement by effectively communicating SCO’s mission, values, activities, and results to diverse audiences, including communities, partners, donors, media, and decision-makers. Duties and responsibilities:
Communication & Visibility: - Develop and implement the organization’s overall communication strategy in line with SCO’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Manage SCO’s branding, messaging, and public image across all platforms.
- Lead content development for the website, social media channels, newsletters, reports, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Ensure all communication products are accurate, ethical, culturally sensitive, and compliant with humanitarian principles and safeguarding policies.
- Coordinate with program and support teams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
- Prepare case studies, success stories, human-interest stories, and impact reports for donors and external audiences, ensuring compliance with donor visibility requirements.
- Support project-level communication and advocacy planning, including publications, documentation, and visibility activities.
- Increase awareness of SCO’s mandate and programs through public events, campaigns, and information dissemination.
- Manage and grow the organization’s digital presence and monitor performance analytics to improve reach and engagement.

Advocacy: - Design and implement advocacy strategies and campaigns targeting public awareness, policy processes, and decision-makers.
- Represent Sadagaat in advocacy forums, networks, coalitions, and coordination meetings.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with media outlets, partners, donors, civil society organizations, and community leaders.
Leadership & Capacity Building: - Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate the Communications & Advocacy team, consultants, and volunteers.
- Build internal capacity by training staff on communication tools, media engagement, documentation, and advocacy best practices.
- Develop and manage communication work plans and budgets.
17. Establish and manage a structured system for archiving, cataloguing, and safeguarding all media assets, including photos, videos, audio files, publications, and digital content, ensuring proper storage, backup, and controlled access. 18. Ensure informed consent is obtained and properly documented for all individuals appearing in SCO communication materials, in line with safeguarding policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal requirements. 19. Ensure full compliance with national laws, donor regulations, and international best practices related to data protection, privacy, image rights, and intellectual property. 20. Protect and manage Sadagaat Charity Organisation's intellectual property and media rights, including branding materials, publications, photographs, and audiovisual content, and prevent unauthorized use or misuse.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience in communications and advocacy, preferably in an NGOs, charity, or humanitarian organization.
- Strong understanding of advocacy approaches, policy influence, public engagement, and modern communication tools, including social media.
- Proven experience in media relations, digital communications, and campaign management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required; additional languages are an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and team-management skills.
