 Background:

The Volunteers National Organization for Development and Humanitarian Service ,is one of the women’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to emergency and displacement, and have been registered in Sudan since 2014, delivering life-saving programming in protection, emergency response, shelter, food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, WASH ,Health and Nutrition Protection  GVB , and humanitarian mine action. A volunteers Organization has implemented projects in Central Darfur, South Darfur, East Darfur, Khartoum.

 

Sudan hosts one of the largest displaced populations in Africa, with over 3.7 million internally displaced people due to the on –going conflict . Sudan faces economic and social turmoil, with sharp increases in food and energy costs, further exacerbated by disease outbreaks and on-going conflict.

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and organized Logistic Officer to support our operations. This role is to apply all organizational procedures into Procurement Processes. And ensure that supplies, materials, and services are delivered efficiently and in line with organizational procedures



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply all organizational policies / procedures into Procurement cycle Processes.
  • Coordinate procurement of goods and services, to ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all logistic transactions.
  • Prepare and update logistic reports, including stock reports, fuel consumption, and movement logs.
  • Liaise with programs, finance teams to meet operational needs.
  • Manage transportation, including vehicle-planning, movements, and tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, asset registers, and warehouse inventories.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to field locations.
  • Follow up with suppliers and verify delivery of goods and services.
  • Support safeguarding of assets and ensure proper usage and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist in emergency or rapid response activities when required.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience in logistics or procurement within NNGOs & INGOs or similar environments is an advantage.
  • Strong record keeping, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good understanding of procurement and logistic procedures
  • English written and verbal  is a basic requirement for this job.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a similar role within an NGO or humanitarian organization.
  • Experience in documentation for all logistic transactions and report.

 

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Procurement Processes cycle and management.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and data collection tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Cultural sensitivity and commitment to humanitarian principles.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in [specific region or country].
  • Excellent written and verbal in English communication skills.
  • Previous involvement with donor-funded projects (e.g., EU, USAID, ECHO, DFID,……).
