Muslim Aid is a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters, conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy. It was established in the United Kingdom in 1985 in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa. Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.
Background: The WASH Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating all WASH program activities in Khartoum State. This includes strategic planning, project design, technical oversight, implementation supervision, partner coordination, and representation in WASH sectoral platforms. The position ensures that all WASH interventions meet quality standards, are integrated with other sectors, and respond effectively to the needs of affected communities, particularly internally displaced persons |

Duties and responsibilities: Project Design and Planning Lead the design of WASH projects, budgets, and work plans aligned with donor and organizational priorities. Prepare technical specifications, BoQs, and tender documents for WASH construction and rehabilitation. Ensure designs promote sustainability, inclusiveness, and resilience. Develop technical tools and guidelines for implementation and monitoring. 2. Project Implementation and Supervision Oversee construction and rehabilitation of water and sanitation facilities in IDP centers and communities. Ensure activities meet approved plans, budgets, and quality standards. Conduct field monitoring and provide technical guidance to teams and partners. Supervise logistics and budget use in WASH interventions. Lead and monitor the distribution of hygiene and dignity kits. 3. Capacity Building and Community Engagement Facilitate trainings for WASH committees, volunteers, staff, and partners. Support community mobilization and promote ownership of WASH facilities. 4. Coordination and Representation Represent Muslim Aid Sudan in WASH sector and coordination meetings. Coordinate with other MAS sectors and external partners to ensure integration and complementarity. Update and share the 4Ws with the WASH sector regularly. 5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Accountability Ensure systematic data collection and reporting on project progress. Verify that construction meets national and international quality standards. Promote accountability through feedback and documentation of lessons learned. 6. Cross-cutting Issues Integrate gender, inclusion, environment, and protection principles in all WASH activities. Promote hygiene and nutrition-sensitive WASH interventions targeting vulnerable groups. |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in WASH program management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts. Proven experience in project planning, budget management, and donor reporting. Strong understanding of WASH infrastructure design, construction standards, and community-based approaches. Excellent coordination, communication, and team management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPANET) is an asset. Fluency in English and Arabic |
