Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring the day-to-day implementation and administration of assigned Watsan activities at project level, including but not limited to, water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, vector control, and dead bodies management
- Ensuring that the MSF procedures and protocols are followed by the Watsan teams to guarantee the operational quality of the project;
- Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee an adequate running of Watsan activities;
- Ensuring the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation (e.g. physical organization and inventory of stocks, receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene material, check that the amounts received are recorded, and check monthly consumptions, etc.);
- Supporting the Watsan Manager in ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (physical verification of stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training). Ensuring appropriate assistance to the project response team and if required, participating in emergency activities or exploratory visits
- Supporting the Watsan Manager in the team planning (e.g. staff rosters and admin, HR processes, etc.) and informing and involving the Watsan Manager in case of any major management or technical issue, and providing all required reporting
- Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, tasks definition and internal and external communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity
- Participating in data collection and reporting as required
- Supervise all WATSAN construction activities in Al Fao, Al Mafaza, and Al Hawata, in accordance with the signed agreements with contractors.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the WATSAN Manager on the progress and status of works at each site.
- Utilize technical experience to identify and report any construction defects or issues that may affect the quality or durability of the work.
- Oversee all activities related to water supply, including the installation of water connections to the assigned hospitals, and ensure water quality complies with MSF protocols and standards.
- Supervise all tasks related to medical waste management, excreta disposal, and vector control in the project areas.
- Coordinate with the Supply Team regarding WATSAN and logistics stocks for decentralized activities, including timely submission of IRs, order status follow up and reception
- Support the WATSAN Manager in preparing WATSAN orders and ensuring timely procurement and delivery of required items.
- Assist the WATSAN Manager in human resource management related to the WATSAN team, including organizing daily tasks and capacity building.
- Conduct WATSAN assessments for health facilities and community water systems in the targeted areas, and share detailed reports and recommendations with the WATSAN Manager.
- Show a high level of flexibility and readiness to provide support in any other area where MSF decides to intervene, based on project needs and priorities.
- Supervise & follow up on all the log activities in Al Fao, Al Mafaza, and Al Hawata, in accordance with the signed agreements with contractors.
- Closely collaborate with other Log team members to deliver any Log support in Al Fao, Al Mafaza, and Al Hawata (MSF activity area).
- Identify the needs (items/equipment/spares for any civil/electrical/mechanical) for any kind of maintenance/rehab in the MSF activity areas
- Other logistics and WATSAN activities as needed based on the changing context.
- Collaborate closely with the hospital teams in Al Fao, Al Mufaza and Hawata hospitals, ensure transparent communication and report timely towards the MSF management for any support needed.
- Participate regularly in monthly report writing and team meetings where requested to join.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education: Technical diploma, desirable specialization in water and sanitation. Experience: Previous experience of at least 2 years in technical WATSAN works, and organizing of multiple activities, preferably within MSF or similar work environment. Experience in construction/logistics highly desirable. Languages: Essential local language and English. Knowledge: Computer literacy
