 Background:

Purpose

 

The Education Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and monitoring of education projects, and for representing the organization in national-level education coordination platforms. This role ensures the quality and effectiveness of education programming and contributes to strategic planning and advocacy



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and planning of education projects in alignment with organizational strategies and donor requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance for effective implementation of education activities.
  • Develop project workplans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks in collaboration with the MEAL team.
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting to donors and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in national and sub-national education coordination platforms, including Education Cluster meetings.
  • Build capacity of field education staff through training, mentoring, and regular support.
  • Promote inclusive, gender-sensitive, and conflict-sensitive education programming.
  • Contribute to proposal development and resource mobilization efforts in the education sector.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding, child protection, and Do No Harm principles in all education activities.
  • Participate in all departmental meetings and AORD regular meetings.
  • Travel to AORD operational areas and working closely with teams on the ground

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in education programming, including in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of the Sudanese education context and national education policies.
  • Experience in project cycle management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and representation skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
