 Background:

United Peace Organization UPO is Sudanese national organization that has been established in 2009 and registered with Humanitarian Aid Commission HAC in Sudan with vision to promote peace and development.

 

 UPO working since 2010. UPO seeks to build peace in Sudan through conflict mitigation and reconciliation, inspiring and furnishing the local communities with sufficient and life changing skills to capacitate and empower their living. We see a more peaceful and socio-economically and politically advanced Sudan.

 Duties and responsibilities:

Lead the HR day-to-day operation across the organization including for the field offices.

Organigram restructuring: The consultant to review the current UPO organization chart and structure, including clear reporting line and deputization process. Restructuring of the current chart is needed to absorb the ongoing recruitment 

Recruitment: The contractor will put in place a screening process that is objective and more importantly, will be able to filter out the best applicants to be considered for further round of selection at field level. The contractor will clearly outline the entire step by step process required for selection; will lay out the pre-tests to be conducted and the interview system. The contractor will propose a method by which final decision on the selected candidate be taken and system by which the selected candidate will be informed. 

Provide staff induction on UPO policies including HR, and other policies 

Develop Capacity building Plan and implement. Develop a capacity building plan including mandatory trainings, hire relevant consultant/trainers to provide the training to the selected team.     

Performance and appraisal management:      develop appropriate tools for performance management and appraisal approach.

Proper filling system: establish filling system and files for the whole staff of UPO both field and National

Compensation package, grade incentives and reward to employee: The consultant has to suggest remunerations structure for various positions based on national laws and regulations and professional qualification of the candidate being considered for a position with UPO.  


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • A human resource management/development qualification from a credible institution 
  • Prior 9 years in NGO experience at HR management level within a complex country programme in emergency response/humanitarian environments
  • Experience of working in remote bases or exposure to different experience with limited infrastructure and direct support.
  • Proven operational HR track-record – experience of providing a senior generalist HR service to managers across a full range of HR issues
  • Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issues
  • Experience of and well-developed skills in recruitment and selection
  • Good attention to detail
  • Understanding staff care for humanitarian staff, in particular approaches to welfare, stress, R&R and debriefing
  • Excellent skills on Microsoft Excel/Word. 
  • Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/training
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in managing multicultural teams.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
