Job Purpose:

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes within SAPA's programs in Sudan. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing M&E systems, data collection tools, and conducting evaluations to assess program performance and impact. The M&E Specialist will work closely with program teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

1. M&E System Development:

   - Develop and maintain comprehensive M&E systems for SAPA's programs in Sudan.

   - Design data collection tools, indicators, and frameworks to track program progress and impact.

   - Ensure alignment of M&E activities with SAPA's mission and objectives.


 

2. Data Collection and Analysis:

   - Coordinate data collection efforts, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.

   - Analyze collected data to generate insights and recommendations for program improvement.

   - Ensure data quality and accuracy through regular data verification processes.


 

3. Reporting and Documentation:

   - Prepare regular M&E reports and share findings with program managers and stakeholders.

   - Maintain an organized database of program-related data and evaluation reports.

   - Contribute to the development of annual and periodic program reports.


 

4. Capacity Building:

   - Train program staff and partners on M&E processes and tools.

   - Build the capacity of team members to collect and analyze data effectively.

   - Provide guidance on the interpretation and use of M&E findings.


 

5. Evaluation and Learning:

   - Plan and conduct evaluations to assess program impact and outcomes.

   - Identify lessons learned and best practices to inform program adjustments.

   - Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the organization.


 

6. Collaboration and Communication:

   - Collaborate with program managers and coordinators to integrate M&E into program planning and implementation.

   - Communicate M&E findings to relevant stakeholders, including donors and partners.

   - Participate in regular meetings and coordination efforts within the Sudan office.


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, public health, social sciences, or development studies.

- Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, including the design of M&E systems and data collection tools.

- Strong data analysis skills using software such as Excel, SPSS, or statistical packages.

- Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. 

- Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
