Background:
To support the Federal Ministry of Health in implementing the national RHCS Health Facility–based survey and other emerging research agenda on SRH (MCH) as deemed required.
Duties and responsibilities:
Support the country office Health team and field teams and the partners, including FMOH, in prioritizing reproductive health information gaps and research agenda, focusing on facility survey in 2023 and other emerging survey opportunity.
The national consultant will work closely with the National technical working group for the facility mapping survey with emphasis on the statistician, data collectors, and other relevant members to attain the following functions:
Actively contribute to the inception report that includes a description of the proposed evaluation methodology and data collection tools, including questionnaires and guides for individual and group interviews.
Provide technical support and work closely with the national statistician to the national survey team to ensure that the sampling process has taken the types of the SDPs (primary, secondary, and tertiary) that provide Family Planning and Maternal Health services as the main attributes. The total sample contains a minimal number of each type of facility to support good estimation of the parameters of the population.
Provide support to the NRHP survey team to develop a time pounded action plan.
Review the available national guidelines and protocols, including review of the National RH and FP policy; and should use these documents – in consultation with National Survey coordinator- in adapting the questionnaire and identifying the levels of service delivery (family health unit, family health centre, local/ rural hospital general locality hospital,).
The Consultant should closely monitor the data collection methodology (Fieldwork) and ensure the implementation to the planned pathways and time frame and provide the required support.
The consultant should supervise the data entry process at the federal level and work closely with the data analyst to ensure that the analysis output aligns with the survey template.
Data analysis/reporting and submission for the relevant report(s)
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Master’s Degree, in Public Health or related medical or Social Sciences, with at least two years of field experience in Health Supply Management and familiarity with Reproductive Health Commodities
Participation in previous consultancy related to health supply is a desired quality
Experience working in Multi Donors - funded projects an advantage.
Experience working with SPSS is a required skill.
Excellent knowledge of English (listening, speaking, reading and writing
Excellent analytical skills.
Good command of MS Office software: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
