Expertise France is an actor of the international technical cooperation. The agency designs and implements projects that sustainably strengthen public policies in developing and emerging countries. Expertise France places its action within the framework of the foreign policy of development cooperation, influence and economic France's diplomacy. On January 2022, Expertise France merged the French Development Agency (AFD) to strengthen the Official development assistance (ODA) and renew the French policy of development and solidarity.

The second phase of the Education Quality Improvement Programme (EQUIP 2) is a €20M EU-funded programme that contributes to fulfil the right to education, ensure the improvement of learning outcomes and the increased completion rates in quality education of children in Sudan, with particular attention to groups living in vulnerable situations, especially girls, through the improvement of equitable access to quality primary/intermediary education. The programme is implemented by Save the Children, EF and SOFRECO. EF is responsible for the 2^nd component, pre-service and in-service teacher training activities.

Result 1. Teacher training is enhanced through institutional and human capacity building

Result 3. Teacher qualification policy is strengthened through reinforced institutional capacity and emergence of research

Purpose of the assignment:

Under the supervision of Expertise France Project Team and in collaboration with France Education International through the International Short-Term Experts, the editing and proofreading services provider will be responsible for providing high quality editing and proofreading for the draft documents in preparation for the final design process in order to be handed out to the different stakeholders and used in implementing the project activities according to the below:

Terms of reference:

• Consider the document’s concept, intended use, content, organisation, design, and style in order to make it correct and functional for the reader.
• Examine the overall structure and advice on the organisation of the content in order to eliminate repetitions, arrange paragraphs and organise chapters and units.
• Examine the language of the document and carry out a thorough check for consistency in grammar, spelling and coherent writing.
• Check all the document sections to ensure all numbers, paragraphs, heading, subheadings, chapters / units correspond to the table of content.
• Ensure a clear presentation and format of the document for the designer.
• Proofread and approve the final copy for printing and ensure no text has disappeared or was cut out and misallocated in the layout and design process.

Deliverables:

• A thoroughly revised version of the draft document to be used in layout and design
• Final version of the required documents developed according to the provided instructions.

• Proven experience in editing and proofreading documents to ensure a concise and correct language use. Experience in editing and proofreading educational documents is highly preferable.
• A demonstrable ability in editing and proofreading processes from drafts to printing copy with knowledge of printing process and colour management.
• Ability to incorporate feedback and adherence to specific guidance to ensure compatibility with the project’s message, communications guide and designer’s layout.
• Ability to commit to deadlines, adapt to multicultural settings and managing risks.
