Chemonics International is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition priorities. The implementation of this program requires a highly integrated and dynamic team approach to creative, coordinated, and effective program implementation in order to meet the program’s objectives.


 Duty Station: Port Sudan

 Background:

The USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) Transition to New Sudan (TNS) program aims to support the consolidation of Sudan’s democratic transformation through activities that 1. enable the civilian-led government to demonstrate progress on key transition processes; 2. strengthen civic engagement; and 3. expand independent media. The Logistics/IT Officer will report to the Field Program Director or their designee to achieve TNS objectives.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Monitor and administer network infrastructure and identify potential problems and develop solutions
Ensure project office is properly wired for back-up electricity
Provide Office 365 support to project staff
Administer and manage IT equipment, including inventory management, software versions, workstation patching and security updates, licenses, etc.
Conduct audits of project staff following agreed upon security policies and procedures as established with the project senior management team and Chemonics home office IT department
Identify and establish relationships with hotel in various regions on behalf of TNS
Make hotel reservations for all project staff travelling within Sudan States.
In collaboration with Operations Manager, review hotel invoices  
Arrange air tickets for all project staff, and review invoices from airlines and coordinate timely payments
Coordinate road travel for all project staff in collaboration with security office on all transportation and vehicle security matters
Coordinate with Office management team to ensure drivers check-in throughout their journey 
Supports the operations team to draft and administer blanket purchase agreements for operational needs, such as professional services, stationary, and office supplies
Monitor and control all project diesel and fuel purchases
Maintain adequate file records of all administration, expenses on hotel, vehicles, and tickets.
Maintain tracking records for all project vehicle movements
Travel to assist with field activities when required.
Supports the operations to implement the TNS policy manual, communicating policies and practices to staff as requested by the operations manager
Other duties as assigned
 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred
At least 3-5 years’ experience working in an administrative role or in information technology
Excellent working capabilities with MS Office
Good interpersonal skills, honesty, and commitment to excellence
Ability to establish and maintain effective, sustainable relationships with project staff, bank and tax officials, USAID Mission personnel and the general development and business community
Experience with donors and USAID is preferred
Strong organizational and work prioritization skills, attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision required
Fluent Arabic and strong English language skills required
