Background: Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified MEAL Officer for its operations in Sudan. DRC has been present in Sudan since 2004 working across 4 area offices covering both immediate humanitarian needs but also engages in longer term development activities. Overall Purpose of the Role: The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will work closely with the MEAL Manager and other MEAL team members and contribute the development of high-quality monitoring tools, promoting accountability to affected populations, documenting lessons learned from programme activities, and assisting in project evaluations. The MEAL Officer will lead the direct implementation of all MEAL processes and activities in their office under the direct supervision of the MEAL Manager. These processes will include training enumerators and overseeing post distribution monitoring, hosting quarterly learning processes with office staff, overseeing the office feedback and complaints response mechanism, and reporting the results MEAL activities to the MEAL manager and program team. The MEAL Officer will play a crucial role in measuring and providing guidance on how to improve the quality of DRC programming, ensuring participation and accountability to affected populations, and ensuring donor compliance. |
