Chemonics International is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition priorities. The implementation of this program requires a highly integrated and dynamic team approach to creative, coordinated, and effective program implementation in order to meet the program’s objectives.

 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists with grants agreement management and legal compliance for a large number and wide range of grants issued to local governmental and non-governmental organizations, working closely with the grants manager and rest of the program development team
  • Prepares grant activity budgets, grant agreements, and other documents required for clearance, implementation, and close-out of grants
  • Establishes activity files upon yellow light for an activity. This includes establishing new electronic and physical files according to the activity’s file structure
  • Assists in the preparation of activity clearance packages by ensuring that all documentation required per the clearance checklist has been saved to the electronic and physical activity files and is included in the clearance package
  • During activity implementation, prepares legal documentation, payment requests, ensuring all required documentation is included with the payment package and saved in the activity file
  • Contributes to monitoring activity expenditures by updating activity budget trackers
  • Ensures that grants and activities are legally closed out within required time frames.
  • Participates in the development and continuous improvement of the program strategic framework and objectives.
  • Understands the necessary regulations, procedures, including documentation compliance requirements, at all stages of the activity cycle
  • Other duties as assigned

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the management and administration of grants agreements with donor-funded projects
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong management and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated experience in grant management focused on ensuring that procurement, finance, logistics, and programmatic aspects are being implemented on-time and in accordance with the specifications of the approved activity
  • Fluent Arabic and strong English language skills required
