Chemonics International is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition priorities. The implementation of this program requires a highly integrated and dynamic team approach to creative, coordinated, and effective program implementation in order to meet the program’s objectives.


 Duty Station: Khartoum
 Closing Date: 25 April 2021

 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring staff and visitors entry into the premises is subject to verification. All visitors must be accompanied to the offices.
  • Ensuring that all vehicle and generator usage is logged. The log will include the time of usage and individuals involved
  • Ensuring that staff or visitors entering the premises adhere to office protocol and do not bring in any unauthorized items such as explosive/non-explosive weapons, sharp objects or dangerous weapons and flammable/corrosive/explosive chemical materials.
  • Routinely conducting perimeter patrols of the site to monitor the site and its surroundings for any potential security or safety concerns.
  • Promptly reporting any suspicious activity or encountered incidents within or immediately outside of the premises to the Operations Manager and the TNS Security Manager.
  • Submitting an incident report for any security incidents within the same day of occurrence. Such reports must include, at a minimum,

(a) date, time, and place of the location,

 (b) description of the events,

 (c) injuries to personnel or damage/loss of property,

 (d) witnesses,

 (e) current security assessment, and

(f) other relevant information.

  • Providing incident response and management in accordance with guard training and standard operating procedures.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Have at least three (3-5) years of previous experience as a security guard in Sudan protecting staff, materials, and structures against common risks either static, patrol and physical security operations.
  • Working history with (INGOs, Diplomatic Missions, UNDP, etc.)
  • Have proficiency in Arabic and English; including the basic ability to read and write in English.
  • Trained in static guard operations including security tactics, access control, and personnel and vehicle searches.
  • Physically fit to perform all job functions to include lift, move, and carry objects weighing 25kg unimpeded and without assistance; standing for long periods of time, walk, run, jump, and climb unimpeded and without assistance; ability to distinguish basic colors, distinguish depth, and see clearly at night and in lowlight.
  • Certification in first aid, fire inspections, and fire drills.
  • Clean criminal record, no dependence on drugs or alcohol.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a strong team player with positive reference checks.
