 Background:

The African Development Bank is an international organization, founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund, with 81 countries. ADB mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent by promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the region's economic and social development.

This project addresses critical shortcomings in health governance and the provision of essential health services, epidemiological surveillance, epidemic preparedness and response in the current COVID-19 pandemic in Sudan. Therefore this project is of high benefit, in which it contributes to strengthening the health systems and health security, under the humanitarian-development Nexus approach.

Duration of the project:

18 months project.

Duty station:

Khartoum with frequent travelling to all 18 states.

 

Project objective:

To strengthen the health system and resilience for epidemic preparedness and response for the current COVID-19 addressing the needs of the current COVID 19 pandemic in Sudan.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Clerical and administrative support include scheduling meetings and organizing daily calendars
  • Provides all secretarial works in a professional manner and pursuant to the best practice.
  • Types all correspondences, meeting minutes, documents, Agenda and reports.
  • Undertakes all arrangements for PIU meetings and takes the minutes.
  • Receives, processes and distributes the incoming and outgoing mails.
  • Undertakes the electronic and paper wise archiving of documents.
  • Receives and welcomes the office visitors and guests.
  • Prepares the requests for office, requirements, supplies and stationaries.
  • Pays out of the office petty cash for office hospitality. 
  • Assists in the completion of various forms, notices, press releases and other communications, which may require posting and/or publication.
  • Disseminates information to sections within the PIU and others
  • Undertakes any other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor and that are within the scope of duties.

 

REPORTS / OUTPUTS:

  • Provides all secretarial works in a professional manner and as required
  • The  staff will prepare the reports and submit them to the project manger
  • Monthly performance reports

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • The staff will have at least a Bachelor or Diploma of Business Studies (Secretarial) and proven experience 3 years of matching and related experience.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in the use of automated accounting systems;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, word Project and Power Point;
  • Candidate should be fluent in English and Arabic, in both reading and writing.
  • Good project management, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to deadlines and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to interact well and develop positive relationships with Stakeholders of different backgrounds.
  • Sound knowledge of the FMOH, AfDB procedures is a clear advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines;
  • Ability to travel within Sudan;

DURATION OF THE WORK:

The contract will be for 18 months with no extension.
