Background: The impact of conflicts at community and higher levels can be costly in terms of loss of lives and economic consequences. It’s critical to focus on what communities can do to prevent known conflicts through the adoption of sustainable community led conflict resolution mechanisms. CAFOD will be supporting in delivery of capacity building on Conflict Resolution within the scope of a USAID – Food for Peace funded, “Recovery in Sudan for Improved Nutrition and Growth” (RISING) II project. The consortium partners in the RISING II project are Catholic Relief Services (CRS), CAFOD, Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) and World Vision International (WVI).
Geographical Focus The geographical scope is 5 states of Darfur
Purpose of the assignment. The purpose of the assignment is to facilitate training on Conflict Resolution to Trainers who will cascade trainings or capacity building to communities. The main purpose is to ensure that communities have increased capacity and skills to identify and manage conflict through cascade trainings which will be conducted by Trainers after the ToT. The total number of participants is 8 in each of the 5 States for 3 days (40 participants for the whole training). After the training consortium partners participants will cascade a participatory training to the community groups and members to facilitate the establishment of inclusive community-based conflict resolution mechanisms (CB-CRMs).
