Chemonics International is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition priorities. The implementation of this program requires a highly integrated and dynamic team approach to creative, coordinated, and effective program implementation in order to meet the program’s objectives.

 Duties and responsibilities:

The SPDM oversees programmatic aspects of identifying, developing, and implementing assistance under this USAID funded program, including small grants and technical assistance. They supervise Program Development Officers and other activity development staff. In consultation with senior management, they ensure appropriate implementation of program strategy and identify program opportunities as well as local partners. The SPDM and will also receive significant direction and guidance from the senior management and USAID in the development of grants design and activities.
 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 6 years of experience in the design, development, and management of donor-funded projects at the community level;
  • Strong relationship-building, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing skills; and a thorough understanding of political context and ability to think creatively in conceptualizing relevant grant activities;
  • Fluent Arabic and strong English language skills required.
