Background: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the following position in Damazin: Logistician 1
Purpose: Logistician 1 provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management, import-export activities and statistics, in accordance with the ICRC’s logistics standards and local legislation.

Duties and responsibilities: · Acts as a focal point in the sub-delegation for all logistics related activities and coordinates logistics activities at sub-delegation level in cooperation with the HoSD and Logistics Country Manager · Provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, supply chain and stock management · Provides administrative support in the areas of fleet management and maintenance · Ensures that the ICRC Standard Logistics procedures are well respected in the sub-delegation · Manages and maintains the Field Supply System (FSS) in the sub-delegation · Reports and provides statistical data to the Logistics Country Manager · Respects and is fully aware of the delegation’s financial rules · Responsible for weekly logistics reports, monthly statistical reports and other reports to be shared with Khartoum logistics and Logistics Country Manager

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: · Bachelor Degree or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, logistics or similar field. · Post Graduate or Master's Degree is an asset. · Three years' professional experience, preferably in commercial, military or humanitarian logistics. · ICRC field experience an asset. · Fluent with a wide knowledge in English and Arabic · Expert level in computer skills · Driving licence · Skilled in the following competencies: Autonomy & Responsibility; Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis; Supervision & Management of Staff
