Job Purpose:
To lead the Export team with the overall aim of building profitable business foundations, long term market share, sales volume and profitability of the company.

Key Accountabilities

Management:

  • Manage the effective achievement of Marketing objectives through the leadership of the Marketing– setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate performance.

Strategy:

  • Develop the Savola Sudan Export strategy in line with the Group’s strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing strategies across Sales.
  • Ensure that Savola Sudan Export strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of Sales.

Leadership:

  • Lead the effective achievement of Savola Sudan Export objectives through the leadership of the Savola Sudan Export – setting individual objectives, managing performance, recruiting qualified staff, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and overall performance.

Budgets and Plans:

  • Oversee the consolidation and recommend the Savola Sudan export budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of Savola Sudan Export team policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Savola Sudan activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.

Day-To-Day Operations:

  • Supervises the day-to-day Operations, Commercials & Futures of Export to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the Export operations (forward plan, backup plan & daily shipment rate with flexible tolerance as per SAVOLA SUDAN management direction.
  • Oversee the Export commercial services (collections, contribution margin, provisions, payable, aging, FX & collaterals BG/SBLC/LC…etc.).
  • Managing overall Export’s future account (pricing, hedging, rolling & spreads) as per SAVOLA SUDAN risk management policy.  

Export Business Plan & Forecast:

  • Develops & oversee the Export business plan for Export markets per segment B2B/Trade/Retail, which are aligned with the overall SAVOLA SUDAN business plan & strategy.
  • Develops long term forecast & set volume, share & profit objectives for SAVOLA SUDAN in conjunction with the SAVOLA SUDAN GM, Edible oil Category & Commercial by Leading the sales team.
  • Liaises with the SSS to identify Edible Oil price movements & determine policy on a day to day basis to ensure minim risk & capture opportunities of WP & rolling…etc.
  • Responsible to create and adjust the price structure for the customers in order to compete with the competitor’s prices.   
  • Managing the Export P&L & cost center.

Export Sales Target:

  • Develops and lead the Export Sales team to achieve targeted sales volume, revenue, market coverage, net margins and market shares & liaising with Supply chain to ensure enough products are available to meet anticipated demand.
  • Improves distribution channels, develops new markets & outlets internationally.
  • Develops a close relationship with traders (AA’s) & key Industrial customers determines policy towards them as appropriate (e.g. payment terms, credit).
  • Managing the Export Sales & marketing budget/incentive.

Communication:

  • Maintains & improves the range of SAVOLA SUDAN customers & their number as well as meeting their needs.
  • Create barriers to competitor entry (e.g. through, loyalty programs and incentives).

Standards & Regulations:

  • Direct all the activities in monitoring and conducting regulatory and regulations compliance audits and inspections and ensures effective implementation of regulatory standards

Projects:

  • Lead and guide the Export project management team in the planning, organizing, management and control of various projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed, meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope and quality), standards and objectives.

Organization Structure:

  • Define an optimum organization structure for the Export department so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner

Change Management:

  • Lead and direct the management of change through continuous improvement of sales systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘International best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting:

  • Ensure that all concerned reports of Export are prepared timely and accurately and meet Savola requirements, policies and standards.

Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Work safety, quality and effectively, ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, Hygiene, Food Safety, and environmental policies, procedures and practices.

Related Assignments:

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administrations, or relevant field.
  • Experience: 8+ years’ relevant experience.
  • Language: English & Arabic
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft
