 Background:

Fleet & Trucking Outsource Project   

·         Responsible to maintain high standard of the workshop activities under supervision of Workshop Manager (or Workshop Supervisor in case Workshop Manager is replaced due to absent) with good coordination among the workshop team in accordance to the Procedures, Normative Guidelines and Business Rules as set by Org.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of immediate supervisor and in co-ordination with all Fleet staff, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

 

1.       Perform scheduled maintenance & repair, overhaul, reconditioning, modifications, in a most efficient manner with the objective to ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high standard and roadworthy condition.

2.       Provide oversight and supervision to all staff and ensure that the work is carried out to a satisfactory standard as required by the Organisation; including time-keeping and completion of timesheets.

3.       Monitor status of entire workshop activities and progression of each work assigned to individual workshop staff, and report to Workshop Manager as required.

4.       Oversee and monitor use of all spare parts, lubricants, consumables and tires issued and ensure accurate records of all items used.

5.       Assist in the forecasting and requisitioning of spare parts, tires, lubricants and materials required for the workshop activities and provide it to Workshop Manager.

6.       Carefully record and maintain an inventory list of all tools & workshop equipment, also ensure proper/adequate handling and care/maintenance are applied by workshop staff.

7.       Assist in technical evaluation and cost effectiveness of the vehicles and prepare recommendations for write-offs, where necessary.

8.       Ensure that proper workshop administration, record keeping & vehicle history records are well maintained via the Fleet Management System (FMS).

9.       Ensure that minimum health and safety requirements are met in full, together with considerations for environmental needs.

10.    Continuously collect and collate valuable data or information relating to improvements required for standardisation and development purposes for Workshop management and communicate this information to other staff in workshop.

11.    Travel occasionally, as required by the Organisation.

12.    Loss or damage of Cargo, Spares, Tools or Equipment as well as Loss of Fuel in the care of the employee shall be deducted from the salary based on CIF value or Local Market Rate, whichever is prevailing. This can also lead to penalties or dismissal to the Personnel and penalties on the Service Provider or Contractor.

13.    Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate supervisor. 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

·         High school graduate diploma/Secondary school education, supplemented by vocational training programmed/full course at a technical school in Auto Mechanics with experience gained in both light and heavy Vehicles.

·         Held the position of Senior Mechanic or above job in a company/NGO with at least 4 years’ experience gained in the relevant field.

·         Good working knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office suite.

·         Experience gained using a computerized Fleet Management System.

·         Speak, read and write English and Arabic proficiently.
