National Consultant
Federal ministry of health
Supervisor: Director General of PHC, FMOH
 Duty Station: Khartoum
 Closing Date: 03 Feb 2017

 Background:

National consultant to revise/update the health promoters manual to scale-up community initiatives and networks such as "friends of immunization" to promote utilization of PHC services and minimize drop-outs and ICCM (EPI, TB, HIV, Malaria)

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund funds for HSS based on the World Health Organization (WHO) health systems framework that identifies ‘six building blocks’: governance, financing, information, human resources, medicines and technology, and service delivery.  In the context of the Global Fund's mandate, HSS refers to activities and initiatives that improve the underlying health systems of countries in any of the ‘six building blocks ‘identified above. Inadequate health systems are one of the main obstacles to scaling-up interventions to secure better health outcomes for HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria.

Healthy mothers are the main pillar for the health of the children, the wellbeing of the family, and thus the entire society. The ill-health and loss of a mother or a child only adds to the economic hardship of families and worsens the situation in our fight against poverty. Thus the burden of maternal mortality and under-five poses a huge challenge on Sudan.

Basic health care services represent the first episode to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services. It is  concerned with Health promotion and disease prevention before treatment. Furthermore it is available an affordable for both residents and focus on vulnerable groups.

Community Health Promoter Guide to raise health awareness in the community was placed in the integrated management of childhood diseases program in 2000 and was updated in 2011 to become a first guide to the health of mother and child at community level
