Background: Technical Advisor for Entrepreneurship Promotion and Business Development Services For the project “Strengthening Capacities for the Reconstruction in Darfur” With duty station in Khartoum and regular duty trips to other States in Sudan, in particular to North and West Darfur. The advisor is reporting to the Technical advisor of the Darfur project. Context The project’s aim is to create more sustainable employment opportunities for qualified people in Darfur. Demand-oriented vocational and entrepreneurship training conveys hands-on skills and know-how to young people on how to start a business. Small and micro enterprises are enabled to expand. Business development services, also called non-financial services, support selected enterprises to compete on the local market, to increase their revenue and, ultimately, to offer new employment. The technical advisor for entrepreneurship promotion supports the area of intervention “Private sector development and employment promotion”. He/She is responsible for the implementation of activities that improve the provision of non-financial business development services by the craftsmen unions or micro finance institutions. The activities will be implemented in the urban areas of the capitals of North and West Darfur only.
