 Background:

To check the incoming samples integrity and decide if they are accepted or rejected. To label samples and register them upon acceptance in the laboratory. To introduce the samples for the laboratory process



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

1.      Administrative Activities

·         Receive samples from field and/or customers

·         Receive instructions from customers

·         Link the customers with technical experts

·         Register samples

·         Label samples appropriately

·         Distribute samples as necessary

·         Monitor when samples have been processed

·         Log results of analysis

·         Keep records of all samples

·         Ensure that samples are disposed of appropriately and timely

·         Distribute reports as necessary

·         Administer, monitor and control lab inventory

 

2.      Customer Relationship

·         Develop and maintain a customer database on the company system

·         Respond to inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person

·         Ensure customer satisfaction and good relationships

·         Give customers attention at all times

 

3.      Communication, Process and Documentation

·         Follow the company designated system to ensure customersexperience a professional and consistent service which maximizes opportunity to gain customer commitment to repeat business

·         Ensure all due monies are received, deposited and receipted without delay

·         Ensure all relevant paperwork is available and completed as required 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualification & Requirements’:

 

·         Related diploma

·         A university degree

·         Minimum of 2 years of laboratory admin experience

 

Skills & Knowledge:

·         Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties at all levels

·         Ability to deal effectively with external parties at all levels

·         Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and colleagues

·         Numerate, analytical, attention to detail

·         Have good  telephone skills, verbal communication,  listening, professionalism, customer focus, organizing, informing others

·         Computer literacy

·         Intensive knowledge of local mining business

·         Proficiency of basic English
