Section: Rehabilitation service division/ Clinical Auxiliary unit

Job Purpose:

·         As an Orthotic: To provide high quality, clinically effective treatment process using design and fit devices, known as Orthoses, to provide care to service users who have disabling conditions of the limbs and spine. 

·         As a Prosthetics: To design and fit devices, known as prostheses, for service users who have partial or total absence of limb/s and makes breast prosthesis to improve function, appearance, and overall quality of life.

To be aware of the Health and Safety aspects of the work and implement any policies, which

1. Carry out assessments and treatments of service users with a variety of conditions requiring moderate to intense physical effort on a daily basis.

2. To comply with KSUMC, KKUH, and Rehabilitation Medicine Department handling and equipment policy and local therapeutic handling guidance at all times

3. To deal sensitively with service users who have high levels of anxiety and aggression caused by pain or limited mobility.

4. Manage a team of junior and senior O/P staff as high quality service providers

BSc in Essential:

• BSc or higher in Orthotics and Prosthetics from an ISOP recognized university
• Relevant postgraduate courses indicating specialization within O/P filed evidence of one or more of master’s levels postgraduate modules or equivalent in relevant specialty.
• MSc in Orthotics and Prosthetics
• Registration to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
• Evidence of registration with a professional organization from country of origin
• Member of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics in Saudi Arabia
• Arabic-  Fluent spoken and written
• English - Able to read and write English
