 Background:

The post holder will have a supportive role influencing policy and planning in relation to the development of high level strategy, policy and delivery documents.

He/she will be responsible for supporting the company strategic planning framework to ensure it is delivered against through the annual business planning cycle and that key work streams are captured in robust supporting plans.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and implement business plans, processes and procedures
  • To act as a key officer in coordinating and facilitating the development, implementation and review of corporate policy;
  • Develop reports for management and stakeholders on business operations and development.
  • Support business planning functions for new and existing strategic partnerships and alliances.
  • Address operational and cost related issues in business planning projects.
  • Perform business and financial analysis across organization.
  • Create procedures that protect and backup vital business processes.
  • Preparing reports and making recommendations on planning applications for consideration by the Business Planning Manager and Director.
  • Ensure effective coordination of planning work by ensuring strong and effective working relationships with existing and potential partners.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • BSc Business Administration/ Economics/ Public Administration or any related field.

3 + years’ of relevant business experience or in Business Planning , preferably in agro-Industrial and Food Industry.

  • The ability to operate effectively with people at a range of levels, both internal and external to the organisation

  • Able to identify suitable and innovative problem solving solutions to planning and policy issues.
  • Highly developed research, report writing, communication, and presentation and public relations skills.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure, and prioritize to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively, efficiently and effectively in a team environment, with consideration, respect, honestly integrity and accountability.

 


Key Challenges:

  • Experience of working in a planning or policy related position in a private sector organisation.
  • Experience of improving outcomes or performance through work on strategy/policy development.
  • Experience of producing and influencing the development of high quality documents and operational plans.
  • Understanding of the significance of Prevention and Early Intervention and demand management models.
  • A developed understanding of evidence-based management approaches.
