The Office of the United Nations for the Coordination and Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in the Sudan is seeking for a qualified candidate for the following positions:

 Background:

Under the direct supervision of UNOCHA Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer in El Geneina and in support of UNOCHA Sudan Operations, the Section Head ensures that the following tasks are undertaken/accomplished in a timely manner by the incumbent who will perform the following duties:


 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of UNOCHA Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer and in support of UNOCHA Sudan Operations, the Section Head ensures that the following tasks are undertaken/accomplished in a timely manner by the incumbent who will perform the following duties: Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Procurement  Support proper warehousing, reception, inventory and handover of assets.  Assist the distribution of materials and confirming receptions.  Assist procurement unit with procurement related issues.  Support the maintenance and repair of project equipment. Finance  Maintain detailed records of all financial accounts and transactions related to the Office.  Manage the Office petty cash, following the corresponding guidelines;  Prepare procurement plan, process requests in a timely manner and follow up. Human Resources:  Manage the processing and follow up on procurement, requests for recruitment of office personnel, ensuring the fulfilment of all the requirements, obtaining the respective authorizations for preparing the corresponding contracts;  Any other duties as may be assigned by the direct supervisor. Logistics  Updating of master asset inventory and proceed to regular inventories of the stock  Ensure proper handover of assets to the project staff and the client  Collect invoices after reception of materials for payment by the finance unit  Assist with the distribution of materials and confirming receptions. 1. Assist procurement unit with procurement related issues in Guidance by Khartoum.  Assist the procurement unit in the procurement of materials for the office by gathering quotations and gathering specifications.


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Academic Background: High School Certificate or Diploma in Administration Relevant working experience: - At Least 6 years of progressively responsible in warehouse administration. Experience in computer databases/ word processing and spread sheets; for the maintenance of inventory record. Other competencies: - Training in Supply/Logistics ; Initiative; Ability to work in difficult environments, ability to work and function in a multi cultural environment. Languages: Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic
