 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the following position in Khartoum: Field Officer II (Physiotherapist)



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ÿ They will Possess and be able to demonstrate a high degree of clinical knowledge including quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice
  • They are able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • They need to undertake occasional field visits with an outreach mobile clinic and to the State Physical Rehabilitation Centres of the NAPO. 
  • They will help coordinate activities between the expatriate team of PT & P/O and the NAPO clinical team.
  • In collaboration with the expatriate team, develops and delivers training to NAPO Staff.
  • Attends all necessary meetings within ICRC and interlocutors in the site.
  • They will undertake Continuous Professional Development to keep updated with any advancements in clinical practices.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualified with a bachelor degree in physiotherapy from the university and desirably, clinical experience post qualification.
  • 4-6 years of experience in or similar position
  • Advanced conversational in English and Arabic
  • Expert level in computer skills
  • Skilled in the following competencies: Representing the ICRC; Networking & Communication; Adapting & Learning; Responsibility & Autonomy; Communication (ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis
  • Good knowledge of ICRC mandate, IHL, and of other humanitarian topics
  • Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment
  • Ability to travel within Sudan
