The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the following two positions in Nyala: Health Field Officer II

• Assists Health Delegate (HD) in running field activities related to the health program
• Organizes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health programs
• Organizes to continuous assessment and monitoring of health situation in area of responsibility
• In coordination with HD, networks and maintains contacts with State, local authorities and other humanitarian organizations including National Security, HAC, community leaders and UN
• Organizes field trips; at times may be requested to organize and lead field trip
• Timely oral and written report writing
• Translates Arabic to English and vice versa
• Data entry and analysis

• Bachelor Degree in medicine
• Good knowledge of Sudanese health system
• Additional vocational training in public health, humanitarian area, socio-economic development, humanitarian law, human rights or equivalent field will be an asset.
• Minimum of two years medical experience in Sudan
• Advanced conversational in English and Arabic
• Good command of written English and Arabic
• Good computer skills in particular Microsoft Office 2013
• Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment.
• Skilled in the following competencies: representing the ICRC; networking & communication; adapting & learning; responsibility & autonomy; communication (ability to express views and ideas); analysis & synthesis; security management
• Well versed in geo-political situation in Sudan and how it affects the public health
• Readiness to spend 50-75% of the time in the field
• Driving license
