 Background:

Government of Sudan is the main partner of United Nations Development Progarmme) UNDP Sudan in delivering its development mandate and achieving the results.  Likewise, UNDP Sudan works through different implementing partners, mainly civil society organizations, including International and National NGOs, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and other institutions.  UNDP Sudan follows a corporate policy in terms of engagement with partners in the recovery and development and humanitarian work in Sudan.  The nature, availability, numbers and expertise of these implementing partners vary and there is an ongoing effort to map all these implementing partners in a format of a roster or a data base that is accessible to all project staff.  The roster will identify these partners in terms of vital information related to their sector, coverage and geographical areas, capacity assessment and performance evaluation status. 

The Information Management Unit (IMU) of the Oversight and Support Division (OSD) has developed such a data base and the two interns are meant to enter the data of each implementing partners in the set criteria under the joint supervision of CPRM and IMU. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The Data Entry intern will be technically supervised by IMU and will undertake the following responsibilities:

 

  1. Collect and consolidate all the existing implementing partners’ information and feed into the baseline information such as names, address, sector, area of specialization, geographical areas of operation, capacity assessment and performance evaluation status, …etc

 

  1. Submit regular reports and updates to OSD and to the wider UNDP Sudan upon request.

 

  1. Manage a computer-based read-only data accessible to all UNDP program and project staff.

 

  1. Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

 

  1. Students of social studies and/or computer applications that are doing their final year in their Universities are preferred.
  2. The internship will be a partial fulfilment of the intern’s degree programme
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft application is a requirement for this internship position
  4. Applicants should enclose a University Faculty Request Letter agreeing to the internship program and duration of internship
  5. Fluency in English and Arabic is a requirement
