Background Information - JASMAR

JASMAR is a national NGO that had been established in 2001. JASMAR maintained close partnerships with UNPFA , UNICEF, UNDP, GOAL, Muslim Aid , in addition to the governmental relevant programs/departments and beneficiaries.

JASMAR field of activities are HIV/AIDS control, Mine Action, sustainable Livelihood, Gender, DDR as well as emergency response.

JASMAR geographical presence covered the States of Khartoum, White Nile, Sinnar ,  Blue Nile, North Kordofan,  South Kordofan, Gadarif , Kassala and Red Sea as well as Darfur.

Currently JASMAR Human Security organization has been selected by UNFPA to be an umbrella for the HIV most at risk and vulnerable groups in nine states (Gadarif , Kassala , Red Sea ,Gezira, Sennar, White Nile, North Kordofan and South Kordofan). The project will involve service delivery package to most at risk populations.

Background Information - Job-specific:

Under supervising of Project Operational Manager the project officer will be responsible for provide technical support to HIV/AIDs project implementing partners though regional officers and filed monitoring and evaluation visits, reporting, also providing support to the HIV/AIDs Team members .  As well as any other duties as assigned on temporary bases.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Ensures implementation of JASMAR operational strategies.
2. Ensures effective & efficient provision of HIV/AIDs project support services.
3. Provides support to proper project management (project implementation, follow, monitoring and reporting).
4. Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing within the organization and outside with stakeholders.
5. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly and by task reports.
6. Review and check reports from the field and head quarter to the external donors.
7. To follow up with the state officers the implementation of the project according to the plan of action for each NGO.
8. Provide technical  and support to state JASMAR NGOs officers regarding the  implementation of project.
9. The project officer will perform under the guidance of JASMAR general manager and under direct supervision of JASMAR Executive director/Operational  Manager  ,according to the rules and regulations of JASMAR Human Security Organization.

Experience:

1. At least 5-7 years’ experience in Project Management, preferably within NGOs experience.
2. Work experience in national and international agencies and civil society organizations is desired.
3. Minimum experience of three years in HIV/AIDS preferably among most at risk and vulnerable groups.
4. Minimum experience of two years in program management and field experience.
5. Fluency in written and spoken English language.

Education:

• University Degree in  Medicine, public health, social sciences or administration or similar field with related experience in HIV.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

1. Good communication, management and leadership skills.
2. Excellent English and Arabic language skills.
3. Ability to analyze the information and reports from the field in order to facilitate the planning.
4. Good negotiation skills to facilitate the coordination among partners.
5. Understanding of working in HIV environment especially the most at risk groups.

Computer skills:

 Excellent computer skills in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet.
