Background:
Access to Justice project is seeking to recruit 3 drivers for its field offices to ease operation and project. Under the guidance and supervision of the Project manager and/or Field Rule of Law officers, the Drivers provide reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work and security of the vehicles under their respective custodies. The Drivers demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. The Drivers provides driving services to the operations and project staff in support of access to justice project activity implementation, Consultants sent to the field offices; Experts and UN staff on mission; and Support to Rule of LAw Project.

Duties and responsibilities:
III. Functions / Key Results Expected
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and Project coordinator/or Field Rule of Law Officer/OICs, the Drivers shall undertake the following duties.
Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by:
- driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other project related items and - meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required. - carry out official business or any other duties as required from time to time by the OIC;
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports; Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc; Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the State/Southern Sudan, first aid kit, necessary spare parts; Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents. Carry out official business or any other duties as required from time to time by the Supervisor.
IV. Impact of Results
The Key results of the post will ensure vehicle assigned is in sound and road worthy condition at all times through regular maintenance and proper driving and care.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education:
Secondary Education. Valid Driver’s license.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years work experience as a driver with UN or International Organizations Good knowledge of driving rules and regulations Good skills in minor vehicles repair Experience in driving various types of vehicles Good familiarity of the State and other major urban areas in Southern Sudan. Knowledge of fuel and vehicle spare parts inventory recording.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in English and Local Arabic is essential and knowledge of at least one major local language in area of operation desirable. |
