Background: Under the overall leadership of the Operations Manager and day-to-day supervision of the Administrative Officer, the Generator Operator provides reliable generator maintenance services. The Generator Operator demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
The Generator Operator provides services within the SSDDR –Commission (including Office Compound if required). |

Duties and responsibilities: Summary of Key Functions:
Ensures provision of reliable and secure generator maintenance
services
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of generator services
materials
Ensure daily generator operations and care-taking (including
daily checking and/or refilling of engine oil, coolants for the
radiators etc…)
Switching on and off the generators as per the
approved ‘generator operating schedules’
Clean generator area on daily basis
Report on generator fuel status and problem
Fill fuel tanks of generators
Recommend monthly services for generator
Assist Electrician in any work that needs his/her attention
Fill generator radiator with water/coolants whenever required
Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Education: Secondary Education.
Experience: 2 years’ highly satisfactory work experience as a generator Operator and/or Generator Mechanic
Language Requirements: Fluency in the language of the duty station, knowledge of the UN language of the duty station. |
