Covers:
RedR has designed a course to cover some of the essentials in field and travel safety. The course is designed to be a brief introduction and recap of some key issues that may arise during field location presence or travelling to field sites by road.
Field/Travel Safety is a one-day course that will support improved risk mitigation and give participants an opportunity to understand the risks and challenges. The course will utilise a variety of learning techniques through group work, visual aids, and plenary discussions. |

Outcomes:
Field/Travel Safety will help participants develop some key skills that will potentially reduce their risks. The key elements of the course include: Process of planning a field trip and reducing the risk of safety/security challenges Monitoring the overall context and design making in safety/security situations Identifying methods of minimising risks of ambushing and carjacking Basics of convoy procedures and traffic accidents Five stages and dynamics of abduction/detention situations Mitigation of physical and psychological impact during abduction/detention Causes and symptoms of stress, and reducing the impact. As RedR designs the course, some elements may change closer to the date, and feedback is appreciated about the course. |
