DRC has been present in Sudan since 2004, delivering life-saving programming in protection, emergency response, shelter, food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, camp management, and humanitarian mine action. DRC has implemented projects in Central Darfur, South Kordofan, Gedaref, Port Sudan, White Nile , and Madani.  Sudan hosts one of the largest displaced populations in Africa, with over 3.7 million internally displaced people and over 1.1 million refugees from South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Chad, Yemen and Syria. Against a background of political crisis, Sudan faces economic and social turmoil, with sharp increases in food and energy costs, further exacerbated by disease outbreaks and ongoing conflict.

Overall purpose of the role

To provide technical support in cash, transfers, documents review, making sure that Financial Policies and SOP are followed. Additionally, providing support the field offices in all matters related to finance.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Support on banking and petty cash payments on need basis.
  2. Review payment documents for accuracy, compliance with DRC/donor policies and completeness.
  3. Maintain cash books and ensure that all cashbooks are uploaded into sharepoint.
  4. Ensure all documents are scanned and uploaded in Dynamics.
  5. Prepare cash counts, cash reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
  6. Maintain an archiving system for transaction vouchers for all transactions booked on Dynamics, with proper referencing and ensure they are attached on system journals and TDL.
  7. Support in donor and financial audits by retrieving requested vouchers and liaison with related parties for missing files.
  8. Review costs booked in budgets for accuracy.
  9. Ensure costs are rebooked as per budget holder’s requests.

    10.Support in preparing financial reports requested by management


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  2. Advanced skills in Excel and accounting systems.
  3. Good background in accounting and financial skills.
  4. Stable and robust character.

Proven Management and supervision skills, team player and proven commitment to accountability practices.

Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

Degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 3 years work experience in finance or accounting

Languages: (indicate fluency level)

                    Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
